A court in Mapusa has acquitted then AAP candidate and former party state convenor Rahul Mhambrey in a case pertaining to defacement of public property by posting a billboard and posters with his party’s logo on the Karaswada flyover during the last assembly elections. Mhambrey had been accused of failing to remove these posters even after the elections. A case was registered against Mhambrey for putting up posters on the Karaswada flyover. A case was registered against Mhambare by the Mapusa Police under Section 3 of PDPP Act on December 16, 2022. The police had later filed a charge sheet in the JMFC. After the hearing, JMFC Judge Jude Sequeira acquitted Mhambare.
Meanwhile, police also registered a case against AAP members for putting up posters at Nachinola Circle, Nachinola Club, Ucassaim at Jagbai Junction, Tar Flyover bridge in Mapusa and Aldona constituencies.
