The Shree Dambab Circle in honour of the city’s presiding deity, Lord Dambab, was inaugurated at Fatorda near the Ravindra Bhavan on Monday evening.

Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai took the platform to unveil plans for a number of development projects in the constituency in the coming days. The event was inaugurated in the presence of South Goa District Collector Egna Cleetus, Additional Collector Srinet Kothwale, councillors, and citizens.

Sardesai said that the two major parties, BJP and Congress, had "backstabbed" him in the past, but it was Lord Dambab and the people of Fatorda who had stood behind him in his elections.

“Shree Lord Dambab Circle is a social project. What is done in Fatorda is development with consent. To keep alive Goemkarponn, we have to ensure that what is in our heart should be visible on the ground,” he said.

The Fatorda MLA said the Dambab Circle is not a private project or the project of We for Fatorda, but is a public project, adding that everyone should consider the project as their own.

Setting 2027 as the target, the Fatorda MLA unveiled development plans for Fatorda, including the beautification of the Old Market Circle-KTC Road and the revival of the heritage Tinto project at the old market.

“This project belongs to all the people of Fatorda. The people of Fatorda gave us this opportunity to realise the dream. I can assure the people that you will never regret supporting me,” he said.

In her address, District Collector Egna Cleetus said the district administration would extend support to the Dambab Circle project. “I am happy to be a part of the event. I realise how emotional the Dambab Circle is for the people,” she added.

Kiran Nayak, in his address, said that Fatorda has overtaken Panjim on the development front, thanks to the Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai. He appealed to the voters to stand behind Sardesai for the development of Goa.
