Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira on Wednesday maintained that dance bars do exist in Calangute and his panchayat was hell bent to eliminate this menace from the map of the beach village.
“Let anybody say anything. I know that dance bars are operating illegally in Calangute. We will not rest until the stigma is removed from our village once for all,” Sequeira told The Goan.
He, however, admitted that people should not take the law into their hands and hold their horses and allow the panchayat to follow legal procedure in taking action against the illegalities.
Sequeira also said that there was a lot of pressure on him to go slow but he would respect the sentiments of the villagers over the issue on the dance bars.
