Director General of Goa Police Mukesh Kumar Meena on Sunday convened a high-level meeting of all top cops from the State to address the issue of providing security cover at the Zilla Panchayat polls scheduled to be held on December 12.
The aspects of providing security to President Ram Nath Kovind during his visit to the State for Liberation Day celebrations on December 19 were also reviewed.
The meeting was attended by all police officers including and above the ranks of inspectors.
The Superintendent of Police in charge of each district was asked to provide an overview of the polling booths identified in his district and parallel, the security arrangements planned for each location.
The SPs also gave details of the existing personnel strength and the additional requirements for these arrangements. These details and demands put up by the officers in charge of each area would be assessed before deployment of forces.
All the officers were asked for their views in the subject.
