As the investigation into the murder of OCI citizen Arnold Soares is underway, Director General of Police Alok Kumar made his first visit to Calangute police station on Thursday to provide feedback on strengthening the case.
During his interaction with the staff, where he was also briefed on the murder investigation, Kumar offered suggestions to effectively prepare the charge sheet.
“He gave his feedback on how to effectively charge sheet the case, and we will implement his suggestions,” North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal told reporters, after the meeting.
Kumar, who took charge from ex-DGP Jaspal Singh on Monday, refrained from making any media statements while only mentioning that he discussed law and order in Calangute. Other issues discussed included matters related to the police station including the Traffic Cell.
“There was a detailed discussion. A roadmap will be submitted to the DGP about making policing in Calangute further effective,” Kaushal added. Soon after taking charge, Kumar had visited the Legislative Assembly where the session is underway.
