With AI cameras to detect overspeeding among other traffic offenses starting June 1, the District Magistrate (North Goa) notified speed limits in the jurisdiction of Traffic Cell, Panaji, that consist of Panaji, Agassaim and Old Goa.
The notification states that for NH 4A, from Divja Circle to Dargah Junction and Hath Katro Khambo, Old Goa to Banastari Bridge (Dhulapi side) speed limit for all vehicles should be 40 km/ph.
The speed limit for all vehicles from Merces Circle to Hath Katro Khambo, Old Goa should be 70 km/ph. For NH 17, from KTC circle Panaji, to Siridao side and Siridao Bridge, Goa Velha Side to Zuari Bridge Agassaim Side speed limit for 2 wheeler and transport vehicle is 60 Km/ph, four wheeler is 70 Km/ph.
From Goa Velha By-Pass Junction (Via Pillar) to Agassaim By-Pass Junction (Via Pillar) should be 40 Km/ph.
For Jack Sequeira Road from Miramar Circle to Science Centre Junction, Miramar is 40 Km/ph. For Jack Sequeira Road from Science Centre Junction, Miramar to NIO Circle, Dona Paula speed limit is 60 Km/ph.
The notification further states that for D B B Marg from Divja Circle to Miramar Circle, the speed limit is 50 Km/ph. For Rue de Orem Road from Old Patto Bridge to Four Pillar Junction, Raj Bhavan Road from Raj Bhavan Main Gate to "Y" Junction near Raj Bhavan, the speed limit is 40 Km/ph.
For Major District Road from NIO Circle, Dona Paula to GMC Junction, Bambolim, the speed limit is 60 Km/ph. For Other Road (Caranzalem internal road) from Miramar Circle to Dona Paula, for other road (via Neura) from Pilar Junction to Hath Katro Khamb, Old Goa, the speed limit is 40 Km/ph.
For Other roads from Science Centre Junction, Miramar to Santo Minguel High School, Taleigao and Madhuban Building Junction, St Inez to Church Junction, Taleigao Goa speed limit is 50 Km/ph.
All other roads in Panaji (except D B B Marg) NH-4A Banastari Bridge, NH-17 Siridao Bridge, NH-17 Old and New Mandovi Bridge speed limit is 40 Km/ph while the NH-17 Zuari Bridge speed limit is 30 Km/ph. The rule comes into force with immediate effect.
