Medical professionals involved with disaster management operations will be given expert tips and training at a workshop planned on Saturday.
Organised by the Ponda branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) with the State branch, experts from across India will join as resource persons.
The IMA is collaborating with the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Goa State Polution Control Board (GSPCB) and State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) to organise the workshop.
It will also delve on handling of techno-industrial disasters. National president of IMA, Dr Sharad Aggarwal will attend and visiting faculty will be drawn from National Disaster Management Authority, Asian Disaster Preparadeness Centre and Directorate General of Mines Safety.
Mass casualty incidence, mass gathering medical care, pre-hospital care, triage hospital preparadeness and hospital incident command system are some areas which will be tackled.
The workshop will also come up with a Disaster management plan for an industrial estate and also for taluka.
