Empty passenger train derailment at Curchorem on Thursday mornings disrupted the South Western Railway (SWR) Traffic.
According to information from sources, the Second wagon of Parcel Special - Empty rake derailed at 08: 30 am at Sanvordem.
The axle of one of the boggy was reportedly broken. “An Accident Relief Train was ordered immediately from Castlerock and Vasco Da Gama. Train No: 07324 Kulem- Vasco Passenger Train was detained at Chandar Goa for nearly 3 hours as a result of this Derailment. After, clearing the obstructed line, the train departed Chandar Goa at 11:35 hours. Area Officer /Vasco was at the restoration site. Cause for derailment is under investigation,” said the source.
The traffic was restored later in the day.
