Former Tourism Minister Mickky Pacheco has demanded an inquiry into the beautification works carried out at Colva under the centrally-sponsored circuit plan, saying the works undertaken at the beach square were not the same as shown on the original plan.
Claiming credit for getting central funds for beautification works on Colva-Benaulim tourism belt during his stint as Tourism Minister around 2008-09, Mickky slammed the department for changing the original plan and making the beach square an eyesore by construction walls.
“The walls built on the beach square have spoilt the beauty of the world-famous beach. I have no idea who has changed the original plan and whether any revised plan was formulated by taking the local stakeholders and panchayat into confidence,” he said.
