VASCO
In a tragic incident early Sunday, a gas cylinder leak at Fakir Galli in Vasco, claimed the life of one person while three others landed in hospital and are currently undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
According to information a group of eight people had come to Goa from Ghaziabad-Varanasi in search of work. They arrived in Vasco on Friday and rented two rooms at Fakir Galli in Shantinagar. Four of them were staying in one room while the other 4 were in another room.
Unfortunately on Sunday morning, when one group woke up they found that their colleagues in the other room had not woken up and knocked the door but there was no response from them.
After numerous attempts, they alerted nearby residents and forcibly opened the door. To their shock they discovered that all four were unconscious and immobile and the room was filled with LPG gas.
The police and the fire department officials were immediately summoned who rushed the four persons to the Chicalim Sub District Hospital. While Sanjay Bind (21) a native of Varanasi was declared ‘brought dead’, the other three were later rushed to GMC where one is critical and has been admitted in the ICU while the other two are out of danger.
