SCOPES, The Supply Chain and Operations Club of Goa Institute of Management hosted its two-day flagship event - Prabodhan 2021- The Annual Supply Chain and Operations conclave, this time in a virtual form, with the theme of “Supply Chain- From Disruption To Opportunity”.
The title sponsor for the event was Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore. The associate sponsors for the conclave included CommScope, Holiday Inn Resort Goa, Syntegon, Optel Group, and Contiocean Logistics. The knowledge partners for the conclave were PM Pulse who conducted a workshop for the students on Business Analysis and Agile Practices and Flying Peacock Packaging Private Limited.
Day 1 of the conclave began with the unveiling of ‘Samhita 6.0, the Annual Supply Chain and Operations Newsletter’. After the inauguration, SCOPES welcomed its first speaker in the ‘Meet the Experts: Tantra’ series, Vishwas Ujire, the GM-Procurement at The Akshay Patra Foundation, who interacted with students on Creating Opportunities and Overcoming Supply Chain Challenges. Speaking on the importance of education of children and the main hurdle to this, the lack of nutritious food. Finally Continuum V7.0, the national level case study competition was conducted, with the case study relating to empowering farmers of India and the country's top 8 teams presented their solutions.
Day 2 began with the talk from the second speaker Sandeep Chatterjee, Associate Director with Deloitte. He spoke about the importance of being self-reliant, self-sufficient and emphasized the importance of being vocal for local. This was followed with Beer Game 2021, a game based on the principles of supply chain management, to test how adept the participants were in handling nuances of the supply chain. The third speaker, Sauvick Mazumdar, CEO - Sesa Goa Iron Ore Business, Vedanta Limited shared his insights on how the wealth of India is its citizens and that their resilience truly showed during the pandemic.
