Goa is close to achieving 100% coverage of the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine for its eligible population of above 18 years and in doing so, will be among the first three states in the country to achieve this feat.
State Immunisation Officer Dr Rajendra Borkar informed reporters that the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine has reached 99.93% coverage as on Tuesday.
“The State has run a vaccination campaign for 1 year and 30 days. We have achieved 100% coverage of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine has reached 99.93% coverage as on today and we are very close to achieving 100% coverage,” said Dr Borkar.
“Goa will be among the first three states in the country to achieve 100% coverage of full Covid -19 vaccination.”
Dr Borkar informed that Covid-19 vaccination of children in the 15-18 age group has also attained a significant coverage of 87% of the first dose and 64% of the second dose of the vaccine.
