Goa, local liquor worth Rsâ€‰7.7 lakh seized near Gokak

BELAGAVI

Belagavi excise and police seized Rs 7.70 lakh worth of illicitly stacked Goa and local liquor at a house in Khanagaon village under Gokak zone late Tuesday evening.

Acting on a tip-off about the illegal storage of liquor, excise inspectors, sub-inspectors and staff raided the said house. A total of 1745.280 litres in 202 boxes of various types of liquor and a total of 206.280 litres of beer were found in 24 cartons, all valued at Rs 7.7 lakh.

A case has been registered against the owner of the house.
