The Directorate of Health Services on Saturday scheduled a massive round of Covid vaccination for Health Care Workers (HCWs) beneficiaries registered on the Co-Win portal, who had not received the first dose of the vaccine.
The facility was made available to such HCWs at the nearest peripheral health units such as the district hospitals, sub-district hospital, Community Health Centers, Primary Health Centers and Urban Health Centers from 9 am to 5 pm.
Accordingly, 468 HCWs stepped forward to receive their first doses on the last day of the first round of Covid vaccination.
During the first round of Covid vaccination in Goa, which commenced on January 16, a total of 19,329 from private and government sectors, were registered on the Co-WIN portal as beneficiaries. The number of Front Line Workers (FLWs) registered on the portal stands at around 16,000-odd.
A total of 479 HCWs have received the second dose of the vaccine till Saturday.
Meanwhile, the first dose has been administered to 4,635 FLWs till Saturday, as a part of the second round of vaccination which began on February 8 in Goa.

A total of 11,168 Health Care Workers (HCWs) received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccination by Saturday when the first round of vaccination concluded in the state.
