The government on Friday announced that the Health department has now initiated a monitoring programme for post-Covid patients.
“The post-Covid treatment has been started in South Goa District Hospital, Margao. Post-Covid complications are also going to be digitised and monitored under Dr Durga Lawande and under the supervision of GMC Dean Dr S M Bandekar. Health Director Dr Jose D’Sa and Health Secretary Amit Satija,” the Health minister stated.
The Health department arrived at the decision after observing that a lot of Covid-19 patients return with post-Covid complications. People experiencing any issues after completion of the period of isolation are now being monitored closely so as to avoid further complications. The Health Minister informed that several recovered patients suffer from fibrosis after recovering.
The Directorate of Health Services is following AYUSH protocol coupled with some steroids, if the need be, to manage such patients.
Post-Covid clinic in South Goa District Hospital is fully equipped with X-ray machine, CT scan, AYUSH facilities and yoga facilities.
