The health minister said he would move a file to upgrade the Colvale Primary Health Centre (PHC), adding that an emergency room along with additional facilities like X-ray, ultrasound and laboratories would also be introduced at the health centre.
The minister said on Thursday he had inspected the PHC along with Tivim MLA Nilkant Halarnkar.
“At the request of Halarnkar, we shall introduce an emergency room along with additional facilities like X-ray, ultrasound & laboratories. We shall move a file for upgradation of the PHC,” stated the minister in a series of tweets.
“The proposal will be taken up with GSIDC post approval of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who has being very supportive of our initiatives in building up health infrastructure in the state,” he said.
The health minister also felicitated all frontline workers who worked selflessly round the clock and continue to provide care to Covid patients, thanking them for their dedication and commitment during the unprecedented situation.
The minister also felicitated doctors, nurses, first responders, cleaning staff, security guards, at the Siolim PHC who fought the pandemic from the frontline.
“During my interaction, I assured them the health department's total support in our mission towards 100% vaccination,” he added.
