The procedure for selecting the next vice chancellor for the Goa University formally kicked off on Thursday with the office of the Goa Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, who is the Chancellor formally inviting ‘distinguished academicians’ to apply.
Koshiyari has already constituted a search committee to shortlist names for the prestigious post.
This three-member committee includes Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) director general Shekhar Mande, former National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) director Jagmohan Singh Rajput and Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Dr G Satish Reddy.
Dr Varun Sahni, the incumbent Vice Chancellor had taken over in 2016 and his term lays down office when his term ends in August.
