A family had a lucky escape when their lightning struck and damaged their house at Shirodwadi in Mulgao-Bicholim on Friday night.
The house owner, Sunil Dicholkar, and his family were inside the house when lightning struck.
Speaker Rajesh Patnekar, former sarpanch Tulshidas Parab and panch Prakash Arodekar visited the damaged house on Saturday. Patnekar also provided some financial assistance to the affected family.
Meanwhile, strong winds and heavy rains caused damage at different places in and around Bicholim taluka.
A house and three two-wheelers were damaged in Chorao, which falls in Mayem constituency, while one house was damaged at Shirgao-Bicholim.
