An argument over food ended in murder when a man is alleged to have killed his brother-in-law in Ponda on Monday night.
According to Ponda Police, David Topi (36) and his brother-in-law Deepak Tirki (27), both from Jharkhand, were staying on a farm at Codar-Khandepar.
On Monday evening, an argument broke out over who should prepare the food and in a fit of anger, Topi assaulted Deepak Tirki with an axe. Tirki died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
On hearing the sound of heated arguments, someone notified the police. When a police team went to the spot, they found the incident.
Even before the police arrived, Topi tried to escape from the site. The police began a search for him and found him walking in Khandepar. The police took him to the Ponda police station, where he was arrested on charges of murder.
