CANACONA
A 32-year-old man from Nagorcem-Canacona succumbed to his injuries at GMC Bambolim on Wednesday, after he was involved in a road mishap the previous day.The mishap had taken place as Valentino Barretto along with Anthony Fernandes were proceeding from Dapot to Polem on the NH66 highway.
On reaching Shellim at about 5.30 pm, their scooter hit a roadside stone and both fell in the bushes on Tuesday.
Both suffered grievous injuries and were shifted to Community Health Centre (CHC) Canacona and Barretto died while undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital, informed police.
Canacona police has registered a case under sections 279, 337, 304A against the scooter rider Anthony Fernandes (22) of Polem and PSI Ramchandra Naik is investigating the case under the supervision of Canacona PI Chandrakant Gawas.
