Mandrem dy sarpanch ousted in no-trust vote

Less than a month after Mahesh Konadkar from ex-MLA Dayanand Sopte’s panel was ousted in a no-confidence motion, Deputy Sarpanch Chetna Pednekar from the Sopte panel met with the same fate on Monday.
At a special meeting, seven panchas “ Amit Sawant, Prashant Naik, Tara Hadfadkar, Michelle Sharon Fernandes, Robert Fernandes, Kiran Sawant and Minguel Fernandes “ voted in favour of the motion while the four panchas from the opposition group, Mahesh Konadkar, Rajesh Mandrekar, Chetna Pednekar and Sampada Asgaonkar, did not attend the meeting.
Following the ouster of Pednekar, Tara Hadfadkar is expected to be elected as the next deputy sarpanch.
Mahesh Konadkar was elected on August 22 and was served a no-confidence motion a day later. He was ousted in a no-confidence motion on August 29 and was later replaced as sarpanch by Amit Sawant, who is from the panel backed by Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar.
