The Fatorda Police have detained a Margao-based lawyer, Adv Pritesh Prabhu in connection with complaints lodged by two female lawyers for allegedly outraging their modesty.
Acting upon the complaints, the Fatorda Police registered two separate FIRs against the accused. In the first FIR, a female complainant stated that Pritesh allegedly touched her inappropriately when she was sitting on a bench inside the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao.
In the second complaint, the female complainant stated that the accused allegedly touched her in an inappropriate manner. The incident occurred in the corridor of the JMFC, Margao.
Pritesh was earlier booked by the Margao Police for allegedly stalking a lady lawyer. Based on the complaint, the Margao Police had then deputed a lady PSI and constable to the Davorlim residence of the accused.
The incident had taken a twist after the father of Pritesh, Adv Jayant Prabhu committed suicide and blamed the lady PSI in his suicide note for acting rude during the search.
The Fatorda Police are investigating.
