PANAJI: Hitting out at panchayats minister and BJP Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho, Revolutionary Goans Party chief Manoj Parab said that Godinho wants to give Pillai a backdoor entry to Goa.
"Godinho is supporting and protecting migrants. He wants to get independent candidate Girish Pillai, who is a migrant elected as MLA. And BJP is backing this candidate. Are there no Goans that he can back?" questioned Parab.
Playing a series of audio clips to drive home his point, Parab said that Godinho is comparing hard-working and law-abiding Goans who are abroad to migrants who are here in the state and indulging in illegal activities.
Parab also played an audio clip, where Godinho is heard saying how he gave preference to outsider residents of Zuarinagar for 48 tenement plots under the Housing Board and even made Pillai a director of the board.
"These people are playing vote bank politics. Godinho was the brain behind the Bhumiputra Bill. We have been repeatedly telling people about this for the past five years. People are supporting the BJP. But this party has finished Goan identity. While Congress brought the slums and migrants, BJP is supporting these outsiders. Even Congress is hand in glove," he said.
Parab said that an outsider like Pillai is attempting to use illegal voters to his benefit to gain entry into Goa Legislative Assembly, and could even become a minister some day.
"This is most shameful for all Goans, especially for those goans who are supporting BJP. Goans have to think now, or else we will be on the roads because outsiders will take over Goa soon. Let's not ruin our future. Think wisely and vote. People must vote for Revolutionary Goans Party, for our party symbol 'Football'. We are contesting 38 seats, and we will form the government because we have the capacity. RGP will demolish illegal houses and cancel illegal voting cards when we form the government. We will pass the POGO bill. BJP must be shown the door," he said.
