Meditation brings deeper understanding of self: Swami

PANAJI

The famous Adikeshava Perumal temple at Thiruvattar is approximately 45 kilometres away from Kanyakumari. Very near to Sri Adikeshava temple, Thiruvattar, is Sri Anjaneya Swami temple situated just 300 meters away. The idol of Sri Anjaneya facing Adikeshava Perumal looks like Anjaneya Swami praying in front of Sri Ram. The temple is a great site of Anjaneya Swami and other prominent gods and goddesses.
The consecration of this temple came out from the vision of Brinda Sreekumar, the Managing Director of Excel Group of Schools, which is one of the reputed schools in Tamil Nadu. Brinda, daughter of Nadesan, ex-MLA belongs to a well-reputed family of a grand old tradition which has a temple “ Sri Krishna Swami temple, Kulasekharam, established in 1969, and a lot of schools and hospitals under them. Her husband, Dr C Sreekumar, the Chairman and Founder of Excel Group of Schools, is a great visionary who brings and executes international standard of education to his village community. Her son, Ashwanth and daughter, Ashika Dhiren are her assets and the whole family supports her fully to make her dreams come true.
While leading a normal life, she faced tremendous untold miseries. As the giver of all good things granted her prayers, she got an opportunity to meet Sri Santhosh Swami on September 1, 2013. Swami belongs to the land of Sri Padmanabha Swami, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is the one who brought Sri Anjaneya to this land. Skilled in astrology he has been doing astrological predictions for the past 20 years. A man well versed in mantras gives guidance and practice to recite Hanuman Chalisa, Anjaneya Sahasranama, the Ramayana, Lalita Sahasranama and Kaali Sahasranama to all his devotees.
According to Swami, meditation brings a deeper understanding of the self. It is the key to understand and unlock the nature of the universe. By unlocking the innermost mystery of who you are, you are free to commune with the ineffable mystery penetrating all existence.
Swami acquired a lot of skills and siddhis from the tradition of Aghori Naatha Naga and Bodhidharma. According to him, ‘human life without proper meditation is like moving in a boat without an oar. Without it, we will not be able to reach our destination’.
Singing of bhajan on regular Saturdays imparts serenity and peace of mind to the devotees. Traditional festivals such as Navaratri, Shivaratri and Anjaneya Jayanti are celebrated with pomp and glory. ‘Anjaneya Swami and Satyamamuni “ miracles of Kaliyuga’, a compilation of Brinda’s real-life experiences was published in 2018 in Tamil and later translated into three more languages.
Radhakrishnan, chairman of SRKVB group of institution, Kulasekharm, Tamil Nadu, brother of Brinda realised the importance of Swami in his life when he got a chance to take ‘Yedu’ from Kumbhakonam. Later he invited Swami to his house for Pathapooja. He also had a consecration of Lord Anjaneya in their ancestral temple at Kulasekharam with the blessings of Swami.
With Santosh Swami’s abundant blessings, Brinda wanted to serve society in various ways. They wanted to establish a beautiful temple in the village of Thiruvattar where people come and acquire happiness and optimism. Meditation halls for various stages will be the highlight of this temple. As the first step to serving the younger generation, the trust started ‘Sri Anjaneya Vidyapidam’ where kids will be taught the Sanatanam culture through various spiritual stories. The charity work to extend a helping hand to the needy will be another highlight. Swami usually takes shishyas to various spiritually significant places to make them realise the importance of puranas. The joy and contentment derived from these auspicious occasions are mind-blowing.
Swami visited Goa on June 2 and 3 and met the Chief Minister of Goa, minister of Art and Culture, Union minister, president of BJP and other dignitaries to bless them, says the press release.
