Work to construct the KTC bus terminus and the new fire station in Bicholim has received a boost, after being stalled due to the contractor and other technical problems.
Bicholim MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye has said he is determined to complete these projects in the next six months.
Dr Shetye inspected ongoing work on both projects along with officials of the Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation (GIDC) and interacted with officials on ways to expedite work while ensuring quality in construction work.
Work on the KTC bus terminus began in 2022 at an estimated cost of Rs 16 crore, but construction work got delayed due to technical problems, and contractor issues.
Dr Shetye also stated that a modern fire station is being built near the industrial estate area and work has also been accelerated.
The Bicholim MLA expressed his displeasure regarding the delay due to various problems but said the chief minister has now directed officials to expedite work on the project.
Assistant Director of Transport Sandeep Parolkar, GSIDC Officer Dilip Joshi, Rohit Kadam Rupesh Gawas and other officers were also present during the site inspection.
