After providing free mobile phones to five needy and deserving families in the village, Carmona Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge divulged that he would like to help such needy families in other villages of Benaulim constituency also.
Talking to the media, Carmona Sarpanch said there are many people who would like to help other people in need and carry out charitable work, especially for the families who are suffering as result of the ongoing pandemic which has brought miseries on many families in the state.
“There are families with even four to five children and who rely on a single mobile phone in the house for their online education. We would like to reach out to the poor and the needy and help such families only. The gifting away of the phone is publicly shared through a video on social media platforms so that the idea is publicized and also it helps to bring out more donors and beneficiaries”, he said.
He added: “I hope donors also from other villages also come forward for carrying forward this initiative through the act of goodwill so that needy families are benefited by this goodwill gesture”.
