The Panaji police have registered an offense against unknown persons for allegedly insulting the National Flag.
A short video of the flag dumped on the footpath near a temple in Panaji surfaced on social media and caught people’ attention who demanded action against the culprits.
The police were quick to act by registering an offense under section 2 of The Prevention of Insult To National Honour Act 1971.
The Office of North Goa Superintendent of Police tweeted a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) and stated that the local police has begun an investigation into the offense.
