Oil cos must bear some load in price reduction from profits, says Joshi

VASCO

All Goa Petrol Pump Dealers' Association (AGPPDA) President Paresh Joshi has said oil companies could play a vital role in the pricing of fuel.
"Many people don't realise that prices are increased by oil companies who purchase oil from the international market and the government can only regulate these prices by reducing their taxes.”
“These oil companies make huge profits and none of these three companies “ BPCL, HPCL or Indian Oil “ who purchase oil from the international market have ever reported losses in the last 50-odd years.”
Joshi said one solution to the rising prices would be to ensure that all three companies also contribute the load of the price reduction from their profits and derive some solution at their end.
“These three companies can unite and form a stability policy as well so that there are no price fluctuations because earlier prices would rise once in six months or once a year, but we see prices now rising daily. A normal person cannot keep changing his budget for fuel on a daily basis,” Joshi added.
