After a lull for some days, the sensational land-grab investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) shot back into focus with the arrest of another man said to be part of the same clique.
The SIT identified the new accused as Steven D'Souza of Dona Paula, who is said to be an accomplice of Mohammad Suhail Safi of St Inez.
Safi was arrested earlier in the land-grab investigation but was granted bail by a Mapusa Court.
SIT sources said they registered an FIR on Friday in a matter of a fraudulent land deal in Anjuna.
Stevan was involved along with Safi in preparing fake documents of properties, some of which were transferred in his name and that of his grandmother.
