Online ticket sale for 54th IFFI to start on Nov 19

The online ticket sale for 54th IFFI will start on November 19, from 8 am onwards and early bird online ticket bookings for some master classes, panel sessions opened on Saturday for the accredited delegates.

The in-conversation session for ‘The Archies “ Made in India’ will be on November 21 at Kala Academy at 2.30 pm. The discussion will delve into how the film honours family, and friendship, celebrates youth, focuses on the 1960s as a period, and why it was important for India to create the first-ever Archie Comic feature film. The four speakers are Jon Goldwater, CEO and publisher of Archie Comics, Zoya Akhtar whose 5th film, The Archies is set to release on Netflix on December 7, screen writer and filmmaker Reema Kagti and Sharad Devarajan, founder and CEO of Graphic India and Liquid Comics.

A master class on ‘Film direction’ will be held on November 22 at Kala Academy at 10.30 am with Phillippine director and producer Brillante Mendoza as speaker. Mendonza made history by winning the Best Director award at Cannes for ‘Kinatay’, the first Filipino to do so. His film ‘Masahista’ won Locarno’s Golden Leopard.

Madhur Bhandarkar will hold an in-conversation session on November 22 at 2.30 pm at Kala Academy with Taran Adarsh. Bhandarka, winner of five national film awards and a Padma Shri awardee is known for his films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Corporate, Traffic Signal, Fashion, Heroine and Indu Sarkar, Babli Bouncer and India Lockdown. Indian film critic Taran Adarsh writes Bollywood Hungama.

There will be a panel discussion on ‘Bringing Stories Rooted in Reality to Screen’ on November 22 at 5 pm at Kala Academy, focussing on authentic portrayals of characters and cultural settings, highlighting their significance in resonating with audiences on an emotional level. In a world saturated with fiction, this panel celebrates the power of reality-driven storytelling in creating meaningful and relatable cinematic experiences. The speakers are Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan, Divyenndu Sharma, Tanya Bami, Shiv Rawail and Aayush Gupta.
