Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim on Wednesday administered the first dose of the Covid vaccine to 96.5 per cent of its Health Care Workers (HCWS).
Nodal Officer for Covid vaccination at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim Dr Jagadish Cacodcar informed that as on Wednesday, GMC successfully administered the first dose of the vaccine to 4,406 or 96.5 per cent of the total 4,564 HCWs under it.
Additionally, a total of 2,150 of these HCWs have received their second and final dose of vaccination as well.
"We commence balance 2nd doses for HCWs from March 11," Dr Cacodcar informed.
Meanwhile, the ongoing vaccination drive continued smoothly on Wednesday with 585 HCWs and Front Line Workers (FLWs) receiving the second and final dose of the vaccine while 471 received their first jab.
On the other hand, 1,814 persons aged above 60 years and 295 persons aged between 45 and 59 years with comorbidities received their first dose.
