The Panaji police have arrested three persons for allegedly breaking into an apartment and fleeing away with booty amounting to Rs 25 lakh.
Details shared by the police reveal that Yaseen Ali from Ghaziabad, Jameel Ahmad Hussain and Sanjay Verma, both from Delhi, broke into the apartment at Bhatulem and decamped with gold worth Rs 9 lakh and cash, on the night of March 20. The police have managed to recover the stolen gold.
“The accused entered the flat by breaking the latch on the main door and then proceeded to break open a drawer in the cupboard, stealing gold ornaments and cash belonging to the complainant. We used strategic planning and intelligence-gathering techniques and obtained information from various sources that led to the identification of the accused. All are arrested and remanded to custody,” the Panaji police said.
