Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that the BJP candidates have filed their nomination papers for the two Lok Sabha seats on the eve of Ram Navami since the party leaders and workers have to go to the temples across the state to celebrate Ram’s birthday.

The Chief Minister made the comment when media persons drew his attention to Congress’ plans to file nomination papers on Wednesday coinciding with Ram Navami.

“The Congress need not tell us about Lord Ram. It was the Congress which had filed an affidavit to demolish Ram Sethu. On the other hand, the BJP has been pursuing Ram Rajya. The BJP candidates decided to file nomination papers on the eve of Ram Navami so that the party leaders and workers can all go to the temples on Wednesday to celebrate Lord Ram’s birthday”, Sawant asserted.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has advised the Congress leaders to control their tongues and avoid making any unparliamentary statement against the ruling MLAs. He was referring to a statement made by Opposition leader Yuri Alemao directed at MGP MLA Jeet Arolkar.
