Governor of Goa PS Sreedharan Pillai welcomed the visit and the meeting of the Prime Minister of India and Pope Francis on October 30 at the Vatican, which is an occasion fit for the history books and is a great step forward towards peace, harmony and inter-faith dialogue.
Pillai said "Both the leaders, in their own ways, have focused on removing human suffering as well as poverty. They are also very passionate about climate change, a topic that needs great bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation."
The Governor expressed happiness that he took the initiative in January 2021 for arranging the first-time meeting of the three Cardinals of India with the Prime Minister of India on January 19, 2021 and one of the demands raised at that time, is going to be fulfilled now.
With the meeting of Prime Minister Modi and Pope Francis, India will surely march ahead on the path of development and of course declaring the traditional commitment of this country which believes in ‘Sarva Dharma Samabhava’ and ‘Vasudaiva Kuddumbakam’, he added.
