Margao Sub-Divisional Police Officer, DySP Harish Madkaikar is investigating an offence registered against the Principal of a Higher Secondary School for allegedly abusing a staffer of the school by caste.
A case under the provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has been registered against the Higher Secondary Principal at a police station in the Margao police sub-division.
In his complaint, the staffer is alleged to have stated that the Principal, being a member of the general caste, knowing that the complainant belongs to the Schedule Tribes intentionally insulted and abused the complainant publicly by caste.
The DySP is investigating the case.
