Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane, who has hit headlines with his veiled offensives against Opposition Leader Michael Lobo related to alleged ODP violations, stirred Goa's political cauldron a tad with an impromptu meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday.
Rane, who was in Delhi to participate in a conclave organised by RSS mouthpiece Panchjanya, met with Shah and "sought his guidance and blessings" he tweeted.
"We interacted on various topics, sought his guidance and blessings. I have assured him that I will continue to work for the welfare of the people of Goa and live up to his expectations", Rane said in a tweet.
Rane has a running political feud and is positioning himself as a challenger to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
In fact he had staked a strong claim to the chief ministerial position post the February 2022 elections but Sawant managed to ward off the challenge. Rane however ended up bagging most of the influential portfolios, seemingly as a compromise.
Rane's offensive related to TCP matters, including his onslaught on Lobo, is also developing into a heady political standoff with the Opposition Congress petitioning Sawant to step in.
