PORVORIM
The Porvorim Welfare Foundation (PWF) has demanded a judiciary enquiry into the jobs-for-cash scam, claiming that it had shattered public confidence in the government.
Addressing a news conference, PWF President Vikas Prabhu Dessai said several youths across the State had been duped to the tune of crores of rupees on the pretext of providing government jobs.
“Every day, new cases are being registered at different police stations in Goa. Hence, the State government should conduct a detailed enquiry into this issue by appointing a retired judge of the high court as early as possible to determine who is the mastermind behind this job scam and which are the politicians involved,” said Prabhu Dessai.
Prabhu Dessai alleged that Shruti Prabhugaonkar, who has been recently arrested, is a member of the BJP and had links to many BJP leaders.
Regarding massive hill cutting and construction activities in Socorro village, Prabhu Dessai told reporters that he has sought necessary documents under RTI.
“On receipt of these documents, I will shortly approach the high court to seek justice,” he added.
