Rainfall expected, but Met says no relief from heat for 7 days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa has forecast light to moderate rainfall at a few places across North and South Goa districts on Tuesday and Wednesday, along with a warning of thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds.

As per the IMD website, thunderstorms with wind speeds of 30-40 kmph are very likely at isolated locations across both districts. 

Residents have been advised to remain alert, especially in areas prone to sudden weather changes.

The highest maximum temperature in the State over the past 24 hours was recorded at 35-36.1°C. 

By Monday evening, temperatures dropped slightly to around 32°C; however, humidity levels remained above normal.

The maximum temperature across the state is expected to remain in the 35-36°C range over the next seven days.

RND plans RoRo ferry on Divar-St Pedro route

PANAJIRiver Navigation Department (RND) plans to deploy a small-sized roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ferry on the Divar“St Pedro, Ribandar route, informed RND director Vikram Rajebhosale. Meanwhile, company building the ferries has begun trial runs of the two RoRo ferries commissioned by the department in the Zuari river.
