Re-arrest of land grab accused not convincing, says GFP

MARGAO

Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai has said the re-arrest of land grab accused Suleman is not convincing, saying it is clear that he was checked out from custody and now allowed to check in by the ruling dispensation.

Saying he is not at all surprised over the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s claim of Suleman’s re-arrest, Sardesai told the media “what is the big news about the re-arrest? Is not a fact that the police has applied bailable sections against the accused. We are not saying, but the Court has said that bailable sections were invoked against the accused”.

He said the government should shed light on the claims that the accused had met a BJP MLA, further saying the government should place the CCTV footage in public domain.
