OLD GOA
Even as the eight defectors came in for heavy criticism from the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) leaders at the ‘Vishwasgaat’ protest, St Cruz leader Ajay Kholkar went a step ahead and challenged St Cruz MLA Rudolf Fernandes to attend the Chimbel gram sabha.
Speaking at the meeting, Kholkar alleged that MLA Fernandes defected to the BJP to save his interests in the numerous properties he owns in Chimbel and other areas.
“We had specific information that the government had issued directions to probe these properties of the MLA due to which he jumped to BJP. He did not defect for development of St Cruz or for jobs,” Kholkar stated.
“As the MLA has betrayed the over 8,000 voters of St Cruz who voted for him, I challenge him to attend the Chimbel gram sabha and we will ensure that he gets the treatment that he deserves,” Kholkar challenged.
