Saligao Police have registered a case of murder against an unknown person with regard to the death of 66-year-old retired Police Sub Inspector Vishnu Dhawaskar.This murder is learnt to have occurred between July 24 and 25.
As per the information given by Saligao Police, the body of Dhawaskar was found in an old house at Salmonawado.The deceased was reported missing on July 24 and on July 25 his body was found. Police after conducting panchnama had sent the body to Goa Medical College hospital at Bambolim for post-mortem while vicera of the deceased was preserved for further investigation .
The family of the deceased has suspected that Dhavaskar was murdered and that it was not a natural death.The gold chain, gold ring, mobile and cash of Rs15,000 on his person was found stolen.The relatives therefore suspected that Dhavaskar was murdered by an unknown person. The son of deceased Prashant Dhavaskar has registered a complaint of murder with Saligao police station.
Saligao Police have registered the case under Sections 302 and 392 of Indian Penal code. Police Inspector Sachin Lokre is investigating.
