The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) on Thursday alleged that repeated interference by Goa Su-Raj Party (GSRP) executive members in selection of candidates and lack of cooperation have forced them to contest election on the banner of RGP.
"The GSRP had initially tendered unconditional support to the RGP, but later started demanding five constituencies and this was not acceptable to the RGP,” said RGP Chief Manoj Parab.
“The GSRP did not want the RGP to field candidates in Navelim, Dabolim and other three constituencies,” said Parab.
Earlier on Wednesday, GSRP had accused RGP members of backstabbing them and had hidden the fact that the RGP had got approval from the Election Commission.
Parab refuted the allegations of GSRP President Inacio Vaz that the RGP did not convey to them about RGP’s decision to severe ties with GSRP.
“We told Floriano Lobo that we are breaking up ties with the GSRP before announcing this decision at a news conference, said Parab.
