A scooter rider was killed in a road mishap at Bogmalo on Thursday evening and a resident of Chicolna-Bogmalo has been booked in this connection.
According to Vasco police, the incident occurred at around 7.45 pm on Friday, when the accused Floriana Lucas was riding her scooter along with a pillion rider from Dabolim Junction towards Bogmalo.
On reaching near Felicity Gym at Rangavi Estate, Lucas allegedly collided with an oncoming scooter, which was driven by Albin Raju of Bogmalo.
All four riders were injured in the mishap and were shifted to to the SDH Chicalim for treatment. Raju succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the GMC hospital at Bambolim.
After an autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for final rites.
Vasco police registered a case against Lucas under Sections 281, 125(a) and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and PSI Plato Carvalho is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
