Cash of Rs 3.12 lakh was burgled from a villa at Prise Palacio, Greenwood Villas in Badem, Assagao during the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
According to the complaint filed by Satish Kumar Bhardwaj, a resident of Faridabad, Haryana, burglars broke into the villa between 9.30 pm on December 31, 2024, and 2.30 am on January 1, 2025.
The burglars allegedly gained entry by forcibly opening the back door and stole cash from multiple rooms in the villa.
The stolen amounts included Rs 1,00,000 from a ground-floor bedroom, Rs 1,50,000 and Rs 58,000 from first-floor bedrooms and Rs 4,000 from a second-floor bedroom, totaling Rs 3,12,000.
The Anjuna Police have registered a case under Section 305 of the BNS for theft against unknown persons. PSI Saish Shetgaonkar is leading the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns about security in the area, especially during the holiday season when villas and rental accommodations are often occupied by tourists.
Police have urged residents and visitors to take adequate precautions and report any suspicious activity.
