Opposition MLAs from Salcete and civil society has condemned the brutal attack on social activist Rama Kankonkar with God Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai warning that failure to arrest accused and expose mastermind behind thr attack on this Mul Goemkar socio political activist should lead to Goemkars coming on the streets to ensure law and order remains in the state.
Aam Aadmi Party Velim MLA Cruz Silva said that Goa is no longer the safe and peaceful state it once was.
"Under CM Pramod Sawant, law and order has broken down completely. As Home Minister, he has failed to control drugs menace, gang wars, and rising attacks on both Goans and tourists. Instead of safeguarding Goans, this government has allowed criminals to thrive", he said.
He added: "Just as he handed over the PWD portfolio, the CM must hand over the Home Ministry to someone capable, because Goa cannot afford this dangerous neglect".
The Goans for Goa ( GFG) has condemned the brutal daylight attack on activist Rama Kankonkar, who has been at forefront, to raise his voice on the rampant destruction of the environment in the name of development in Goa. "This is a clear indication that that the law and order has completely collapsed in Goa, and the Chief Minister has to accept responsibility for this attack on the activist", stated Goans for Goa Convener Kennedy Afonso.
The GFG has demanded that the CM should ensure that those culprits who have attacked Rama, must be arrested within 24 hours.
"The Police of Goa has failed to protect the activists , as this is the second attack on Rama. If the culprits are not arrested within 24 hours, the whole of Goa will rise in support of Rama," he warned.
