SANGUEMWith PWD authorities paying no heed to the frequent requests made by the people from Sanguem to hot-mix the damaged portion of Dando Junction to Sanguem town, Sanguem Municipal Councillor Meshu Dcosta has threatened to lead an agitation in Sanguem if the road is not hot-mixed by January 10.
Dcosta pointed out that when he had last resorted to an agitation at Sanguem to get the said portion of the damaged road hot-mixed on a priority basis, Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai had assured that the road will be repaired by the second week of January. However, a period of over two months has elapsed since the assurance given by Phaldessai but no action is initiated to get the road repaired.
It may be recalled that half the portion of the main road from Dando to Sanguem town was dug two years back to lay a drinking water pipeline. After the completion of the work of laying the pipeline, only temporary work of the road was done and it led to the people from Sanguem facing hardships in using the road from Dando to Sanguem, which also led to a couple of accidents.
Dcosta has now set a fresh deadline for the PWD to get the road repaired by January 10, failing which he along with his supporters will lead a fresh agitation at Sanguem.
