A charter flight from Katowice, Poland, arrived at Manohar International Airport at 9.30 am on Friday, marking the first charter service from the Polish city to Goa for the current tourist season.
The flight, ENT 1443, carried 189 passengers and was the second charter arrival from Poland to Goa this year. Airport authorities arranged a traditional welcome for the passengers on arrival.
Reacting to the arrival, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte described the charter service as a positive indicator for Goa’s international tourism sector. “Poland continues to be an important source market for us, and such charter operations strengthen our efforts to diversify markets while promoting quality tourism. We remain committed to improving connectivity, ensuring seamless travel experiences, and positioning Goa as a responsible, year-round global destination,” Khaunte said.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said charter operations were significant for sustaining overseas arrivals during the tourist season. “Charter arrivals such as these play a vital role in sustaining international tourist inflow and supporting local stakeholders. The growing interest from Polish travellers highlights Goa’s appeal beyond its beaches, encompassing culture, wellness, hinterland experiences, and nature-based tourism. The Department will continue to work closely with airlines and tour operators to further enhance international connectivity,” Naik said.
Officials said charter flights from Poland form part of broader efforts to maintain international tourist inflow during the season, with Poland emerging as one of the European markets sending visitors to Goa. The Department of Tourism is coordinating with airlines and tour operators to facilitate charter services from overseas destinations.
