Hawaldar Raju Kalangutkar alias Udayraj has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with the bribery case involving the Terekhol coastal security police.
This is the second arrest in the case with the first arrest being that of the prime accused, suspended hawaldar Sanjay Talkar - currently in police custody.
Paraglider Pruthvi H N had complained to the ACB alleging that in January 2024, Talkar and the PI allegedly illegally demanded a monthly bribe of Rs 10,000. The demand came with a threat of police harassment if not paid on a regular basis. The amount was subsequently negotiated down to Rs 8,000 per month.
The complainant has provided an audio recording and the GPay receipts to the police for the probe.
