A 53-year-old security guard was killed in a road accident at Guirim on the NH66, Mapusa Police informed.
The security guard was identified as Anil Kanta Singh who was a resident of Guirm.
The mishap took place late in the evening on Monday.
According to police, the deceased who was travelling from Panaji to Mapusa in an indirect bus got down at Guirim at around 8.45 pm.
As he was crossing the NH66 a speeding car moving from Panaji to Mapusa knocked him down seriously injuring him, police informed.
The deceased who had fractured his leg and received serious injuries on his stomach died on the way as he was being shifted to the North Goa District Hospital for treatment.
Mapusa Police have booked the car driver Ramesh Barad for rash and negligent driving.
