Chairman of the Sociedade Agricola dos Gauncares de Cuncolim e Veroda Shaba Desai has said that Sociedade land is a private land belonging to the Gauncars of Cuncolim and cannot be categorised as government or comunidade land.
Asked to react to the statement made by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that people who has built houses on Sociedade land can use the same forms meat for the Comunidade land for regularisation, Shaba wondered how this can happen when the Sociedade is a private institution.
He told The Goan that the Sociedade Committee will first find out what exactly the Chief Minister has stated vis-Ã -vis the Sociedade land. “Since the Sociedade land is a private land, we will seek legal advice before chalking out the next course of action”, Shaba said.
